Donald Trump had a great Tuesday night with his almost complete sweep of the Super Tuesday primary events. The Republican nomination process is looking more and more like a coronation and Trump is celebrating is like royalty.
According to New York Times, Trump spent an incredible $315.000 of raised election campaign funds on events at his Mar-A-Lago private club in Florida since he announced his 2024 candidacy. The events at Mar-A-Lago has likely been a combination of fund-raisers, campaign co-ordinating events and meetings all related to his presidential run. The Florida GOP primary is not due until the end of April and in any case it's unlikely that Trump hosted any actual voters at his estate.
Mar-a-Lago is a resort and national historic landmark located in Palm Beach, Florida. Originally constructed between 1924 and 1927 for cereal company heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post, the estate spans approximately 20 acres and features a 128-room mansion that includes the main house, guest rooms, and other functional spaces. Designed with a mix of Spanish, Venetian, and Portuguese architectural styles, Mar-a-Lago stands out for its opulent decorations and its adaptation to the tropical landscape of Florida. After Post's death, the property was bequeathed to the U.S. government, and later purchased by Donald Trump in 1985. Trump transformed Mar-a-Lago into a private club in 1994, which now includes amenities such as a beach club, ballroom, spa, and hotel rooms for its members. Since his presidency, Mar-a-Lago has also served as Trump's primary residence and has been referred to as the "Winter White House," hosting numerous official events and meetings.
