Adult film actress Stormy Daniels recently ended up the star in something far more salacious than an adult film: The criminal trial against a former United States president.
A central witness in the so-called ‘hush money’-case, Daniels had detailed in front of a Manhattan Court, how she was paid to stay quiet about an affair with the then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The case revolved around Trump and a scheme intended to unlawfully sway the result of the 2016 presidential election.
Trump and his co-conspirators were accused of suppressing negative press about the then-candidate, which included paying off multiple people who wanted to sell potentially damaging stories to the press about Trump, “repeatedly and fraudulently” falsifying business records in the process.
“It was election fraud, pure and simple,” prosecutor Matthew Colangelo told jurors during his opening statement in late April.
Trump was convicted on all 34 counts of falsifying business records that he was charged with on Thursday May 30, 2024.
Now, Daniels has addressed the verdict, explaining her feelings following the trial.
According to The New Daily, she told Australian radio show Fifi, Fev & Nick that she, “had come home and moved on with my life.”
Daniels was in the middle of directing a (not adult) movie, when the news of Trump’s verdict came out.
“I got like 17 text messages in a row that all said from different people – my attorney and friend – just said, ‘Verdict’,” she said.
“When those charges started coming down, I can’t even begin to tell you the emotions that I felt … somewhere around charge 15 or 16, I just completely melted down.”
