Bedford Media has announced that it will relaunch LIFE Magazine as a regular publication in print as well as digital distribution after landing a licensing agreement with Dotdash Meredith.
Bedford Media is a media holding company “focused on artisanal storytelling, creator authenticity, and reviving legacy brands with storied histories and cultural resonance”. It most recently acquired i-D Magazine, a formerly British bimonthly magazine dedicated to pop culture, youth culture, fashion, music, and art.
Behind Bedford Media is CEO and former Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Kloss and husband, business man and LIFE publisher Joshua Kushner, brother of Donald Trump son-in-law and former Senior Advisor to the President, Jared Kushner.
"LIFE's legacy lies in its ability to blend culture, current events, and everyday life—highlighting the triumphs, challenges, and unique perspectives that define us," said Joshua Kushner.
Kloss, who in the past has been a vocal supporter of the Democratic Party and Joe Biden despite her familial ties to the Trumps and the Trump administration, said: "We see LIFE as an uplifting and unifying voice in a chaotic media landscape."
According to the Los Angeles Times, a representative for the company has stated that Life Magazine will most likely be a quarterly publication.
LIFE magazine, once the epitome of photojournalism, captured the essence of the 20th century through its vivid, arresting images and compelling narratives.
Once a household staple, reaching as much as a quarter of the US population during its golden years’ weekly publications, LIFE Magazine’s pages offered a window to the world, covering a plethora of subjects; from the everyday life of American teenagers to the front lines of war.
